BackTrackR
Live performance · iPad
Run your stem-based live show with Timeline, Loops A–L, a cue list, a full mixer, and a performance dashboard you arrange yourself — from rehearsal to encore.
Who it's for
If you play live with separate audio tracks per instrument — not just a single stereo file — BackTrackR gives you the control you need on stage.
Features
A performance console for your backing tracks — not a studio DAW, not a simple MP3 player.
See every stem as waveforms. Zoom, follow the playhead, and scrub with confidence — so you always know where you are in the arrangement.
Mark verse, solo or outro regions and arm them from the screen, MIDI or a foot pedal. Queue the next loop at the end, or land on the downbeat with bar timing.
Build your running order for the gig. Clear NOW and NEXT indicators, auto-advance between songs, and a performance lock so nothing changes mid-show by accident.
Faders, mute, solo and pan for every stem — plus EQ, compression and reverb. Save your mix per song so it sounds right every time you play it.
Arrange transport, cue cards, loop buttons, timers and song overview where you want them. Layout presets for all iPads.
Bring in songs from Files, Dropbox or OneDrive. Organise with playlists and search — your library stays on your iPad.
Full overview
The highlights above cover the main story. Here’s the full set — without the technical deep dive. Details live in the user manual.
BackTrackR recognises special tracks like click, cue and timecode stems and can send them to separate outputs on a multichannel audio interface. Your drummer gets the click in their in-ears while the audience hears only the backing — no extra cables or workarounds needed.
How it works
Add your multitrack song bundles from Files, Dropbox or OneDrive. Each song keeps all its separate stems together.
Build your cue list, set the mix, mark loops on the Timeline, and adjust pitch or tempo while you rehearse.
Lock the show, hit play, arm loops when you need them, and move through your set with clear NOW/NEXT cues.
FAQ
No — BackTrackR is designed for iPad only. The interface is built for live performance on a larger screen in portrait or landscape.
Songs are imported as multitrack bundles with separate WAV files per stem. If you already work with stem-based backing tracks, your existing files should work.
Not necessarily — BackTrackR works with the iPad's built-in output. An audio interface is recommended if you want separate outputs for click tracks, in-ear monitors or a full live rig.
On your iPad. Songs and settings stay on your device. Cloud sign-in is only used when you choose to import from your own Dropbox or OneDrive account.
Each song can have up to twelve loop regions, labelled A through L. You create them on the Timeline, then arm them from the screen, a dashboard widget, MIDI or a foot pedal — useful for repeating a verse, solo or outro on stage.
